Love at first sight. Perhaps this is the simplest way to describe the feeling that sailing gives me. It's a passion that makes me humble and learn at the same time as knowing that I am where I need to be. "

Unfortunately, in my experience, there are far more people with a licence than can actually handle sailing situations.

A Waypoint Yachting Academy's aim is to reverse this trend together and to make more and more people aware of what it means to sail the seas in complete harmony with nature.

Connection to Balaton

I started sailing on Lake Balaton in 2005, when I used to take small groups of friends sailing for pleasure in 25-30 foot charter boats.

Later on, around 2010, I turned to racing. Between 2010 and 2015, I raced as a skipper in several boat classes (e.g. Nautic 330, Scholtz 22 ).

In 2015 I bought my first boat, a Dynamic 2000, a YS II class boat. I sailed this boat for 2 years. I gained important knowledge but I could not achieve any significant results because I could not compete with other, more powerful boats. I learned a lot during these years.

In 2017, I bought my One Design boat in the Folkboat class, a Nordic Folkboat sailboat which I named "Zarándok" ("Pilgrim"). I raced this boat for 5 years and won several times the Hungarian Championship and the Balaton Kékszalagja race. I have been on the podium in both classes several times and I have also achieved podium finishes in major races with my team.

In 2023, following a racing accident, I decided to stop racing for a while and buy another boat, a touring sailboat, for myself. So I did. I bought a boat in a significantly deteriorated condition from Germany, a Jeanneau Sun Way 28-footer with two cabins and extras, which I then refurbished, partly by myself partly with the help of professionals.

I am currently sailing this comfortable touring boat. The boat is docked in Balatonfűzfő. My aim is to introduce many people who want to sail to this sport and to provide them with a recreation that is a real adventure and a way to recharge their batteries.
